Fix 1. Make Sure Your Xbox Is Up-To-Date

  • Press Xbox Guide button.
  • Go to Settings > System.
  • Click on “Updates” and make sure it is up-to-date. If it is not, then update it.

Fix 2. Power Cycle Your Xbox

  • Turn off the Xbox console by pressing the Xbox button.
  • Unplug the console’s power cable.
  • Now, wait for couple of minutes.
  • Press and hold power button to remove any remaining power.
  • Plug-in power cable.
  • Press the Xbox button to turn it ON and then check.

Fix 3. Change Internet Connection

If you are using Wi-Fi or LAN cable, then switch to mobile data via hotspot.

If you are connected to mobile data, then switch to Wi-Fi.

Now, try to sign-in to Fortnite and see if that works.

Fix 4. Turn On QoS Tagging

  • Press Xbox Guide button.
  • Go to Settings > General > Network settings.
  • Navigate to Advanced settings > QoS tagging settings.
  • Check mark “DSCP tagging” & “WMM tagging”.
  • Then click on “Restart now” and confirm it.

 Fix 5. Sign-In To Xbox With Another Account

  • For example, if you have any other alternate account, then login with an alternate account on Xbox to play Fortnite.
  • And see if you are able to play the game or not.

Fix 6. Change DNS Settings Manually

  • Launch Xbox and go to Profile & System > Settings > General > Network Settings > Advanced Settings.
  • Select DNS Settings > Manual.
  • Primary DNS: 8.8.8
  • Secondary DNS: 8.4.4

Now, check problem is fixed or not.

Fix 7. Reset Console Without Deleting Games

  • Press Xbox Guide button.
  • Go to Settings > System.
  • Then click on Console info > Reset console.
  • Click on “RESET AND KEEP MY GAMES & APPS”.
  • After this check if your issue is fixed or not.
