Fix 1. Check Instagram’s Community Guidelines

If your comment goes against Instagram’s community guidelines, then your comment may get removed by their automated system.

Instagram has strict rules regarding harassment, hate speech and other inappropriate content.

To check if you have a violation or not, follow these steps:

  • Open Instagram app.
  • Tap on Profile icon and then tap on 3 horizontal lines (Menu).
  • Tap on Settings and privacy, scroll down and then tap on “Account Status”.
  • Click on “Removed content” and “Features you can’t use” options and see if you have violated any community guidelines.
  • If you have a violation, then you can see it here.
  • Please note that such restriction is lifted after 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month or sometime it takes up to 1 year.

Fix 2. Appeal a Removed Comment

If you are certain that your comment was removed in error, then you can appeal the decision.

To do this, tap on the notification that you have received that your comment was removed and click on “Think we made a mistake? Let us know”.

Now, fill up the form. Explain your issue and why you believe that your comment did not violate their guidelines.

After 24-48 hrs your comment will be reposted, if Instagram believes it does not go against their guideline.

Fix 3. Contact Instagram Support For Assistance

  • Go to Instagram Profile > Menu icon > Settings and privacy > scroll down and tap on Help > Report a Problem.
  • Now, simply explain your issue and tap on Send button.
  • Wait for 24-48 hours for a reply from Instagram.
